Israeli Gadget Creates Drinking Water From Thin Air

Unbelievable Israeli invention can create cold drinking water as part of air conditioning system in battlefield or isolated desert situations.

Introducing one of Israel’s most innovative companies: Water-Gen.

The team at Water-Gen  have developed a device that extracts drinkable clean water from the air. The machines can be small enough to fit into soldiers’ backpacks or built into their military vehicles.  It works by extracting humidity from the air. The air filter removes all the dust and dirt particles while the cooling mechanism turns the humidity to condensation, which is gathered. This leading-edge system produces 5 to 20 gallons of drinking water per day.

So far the machines are only used by the military, but the company hopes the purifiers will be used by civilians as well. In 2013, the IDF even took the portable units to the Philippines for the aftermath of Typhoon Haiyan.
