GOP takes aim at North Jersey

On April 3, 2011, The New Jersey Apportionment Commission redrew the state’s 40 legislative districts to reflect population changes in the 2010 U.S. Census. A challenge to the new lines was dismissed by the State Supreme Court last month.

District 36 now includes Carlstadt, Cliffside Park, East Rutherford, Little Ferry, Lyndhurst Township, Moonachie, North Arlington, Passaic City, Ridgefield, Ridgefield Park, Rutherford, South Hackensack Township, Teterboro, Wallington, and Wood-Ridge. It is currently represented by State Senator Paul A. Sarlo, and Assemblymen Kevin J. Ryan and Gary S. Schaer.

District 37 now includes Alpine, Bogota, Cresskill, Englewood City, Englewood Cliffs, Fort Lee, Hackensack City, Leonia, Northvale, Palisades Park, Rockleigh, Teaneck Township, and Tenafly. It is currently represented by State Senator Loretta Weinberg, and Assemblymen Gordon M. Johnson and Valerie Vainieri
