Get your sneakers ready
The Kaplen JCC on the Palisades is registering participants for its 2020 Virtual Rubin Run, which will take place from May 7 to Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 10.
Participants are encouraged to run or walk from anywhere to anywhere, log the distances they’ve run, and achieve their goals.
The annual event, which has been held outdoors every year until this one, aims to celebrate family and fitness as it raises funds for important programs that improve the quality of life for differently abled children, teens, and adults in the community.
This year, run or walk suggestions include 5 or 10 k, half-marathon, a kids fun run for anyone 12 and under, or the “set my own distance challenge.”
The Rubin Run is made possible by its generous community sponsors. This year’s lead sponsors include the Kaplen Foundation, the Liberman Networks, the Rubin and Rubach families, Englewood Health, North Jersey/Rockland Jewish Standard, northjersey.com, and LocalIQ.
The Rubin Run is named for the late Leonard Rubin, a founder and past president of the JCC, who established this community-wide athletic event to encourage and promote healthy living.
