Rockland County Executive Ed Day and County Health Commissioner Dr. Patricia Schnabel Ruppert have announced that the health department has scheduled four flu vaccine clinics for anyone 6 months and older at several Rockland locations.

The vaccines are available in two clinics on Friday, October 11. First, from 9 to 11 a.m., at the Robert Yeager Health Center, Building A, second floor clinic area, at 50 Sanatorium Road in Pomona, and again, from 1 to 4 p.m., at the Allison-Parris County Office Building, Legislative Chambers, at 11 New Hempstead Road in New City.

They’re available on Friday, October 18, from 9 to 11 a.m., in the Student Union Building, Room #3217, Rockland Community College, 145 College Road in Suffern.

And they’re also given on Thursday, October 24, from 2 to 4 p.m., at the Rockland County Department of Health Family Planning office, 14 South Main St., 2nd floor, in Spring Valley.

The vaccine is free of charge if you are 65 years or older —bring identification with proof of age. They’re free if you have Medicare or Medicaid — bring your card. And they’re free if you are uninsured or underinsured.

No appointments are needed. There is a $20 fee for everyone from 6 months through 64 years old. Cash or checks will be accepted. If you have private health insurance, you will get a receipt to submit to your health insurance for possible reimbursement. For more information, call (845) 364-2534.
