Dr. Dalia Shoretz Nagel named Sharsheret’s new board president

Sharsheret, a national not-for-profit organization supporting young women and their families, of all Jewish backgrounds, who face breast or ovarian cancer, has named Dr. Dalia Shoretz Nagel as the new president of its board of directors.

According to Dr. Shoretz Nagel, “It has been awe-inspiring to be a part of Sharsheret as it has grown into a remarkable organization. As president of the board, I look forward to building my sister Rochelle’s legacy, ensuring that no Jewish woman or family faces breast cancer or ovarian cancer alone.”

Outgoing board president Dana Norris will remain on the executive board.

Dr. Nagel graduated from Barnard College summa cum laude, and earned her medical degree from Harvard Medical School. She completed her residency at Mount Sinai Hospital, and now practices comprehensive ophthalmology on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. She also is a clinical instructor at Mount Sinai, where she is active in teaching residents and students.

Dr. Nagel and her husband, Efraim, live in Teaneck with their five children. Her sister, Rochelle Shoretz A”H, was Sharsheret’s founder.  Dr. Nagel has been close to the organization from its very beginning, as a member of the board when Sharsheret was founded in 2001, an active volunteer, and a Team Sharsheret athlete.
