Some of New York’s most prestigious real estate professionals gathered on July 25 for the Friends of the Israel Defense Forces New York Real Estate Division’s 10th annual golf outing at Glen Oaks Country Club in Old Westbury. They golfed, networked, and dined alongside IDF soldiers, including Staff Sergeant Rom of Demarest, who serves in the elite Orev Unit of the Reconnaissance Battalion in the Golani Brigade. (The FIDF does not make soldiers’ last names public.) During a recent mission, Rom’s unit arrested the terrorist who provided the weapons for the recent Bnei Brak attacks where five innocent people were killed.

The daylong event honored Ofer Yardeni, CEO of Stonehenge NYC and FIDF national board member, and was co-chaired by Marty Burger, CEO of Silverstein Properties, and Chuck Rosenzweig of Criterion Real Estate Capital. John Franco, a former American professional baseball player, was among the guests. Other distinguished event guests included FIDF CEO Steve Weil and Galit Brichta, FIDF’s northeast region’s vice president.
