Co-star of Netflix series ‘Fauda’ speaking at FIDF NJ dinner
Rona-Lee Shim’on, who plays Nurit, the sole female member of an Israeli counterterrorism unit in the TV series “Fauda,” is the guest speaker for the FIDF New Jersey’ Tribute Dinner, set for Monday, December 2, at 6:30 p.m., at the Venetian in Garfield. Some 500 FIDF supporters are expected at the dinner, “A Night of Heroes,” which will salute Israel’s brave men and women in uniform and contribute to FIDF’s well-being and educational programs.
Shim’on will join emcee/television personality Siggy Flicker and a delegation of visiting Israel Defense Forces soldiers for the evening. FIDF supporters Ellen Sokoloff and Annette Tauber Stern are the co-chairs.
Other guests will include FIDF National Board members Sammy Bar-Or, Melinda Lowell Paltrow, and Lloyd Sokoloff; FIDF supporters Chic and Shelley Paradis; Donna Calcaterra, Gil Mayor, Aline Friedman, Allison Nagelberg, Saul Scherl, and Steve Mermelstein; FIDF National Director and CEO Maj. Gen. (Res.) Meir Klifi-Amir; FIDF Tri-State Executive Director Galit Brichta; and FIDF New Jersey Director Howard Gases.
“Our annual dinner will be a wonderful opportunity to meet active-duty soldiers of different backgrounds, all with the same goal of protecting Israel,” Mr. Gases said. “Our supporters from the community will have the chance to hear from Rona-Lee Shim’on, and to thank the brave soldiers who defend Israel and directly benefit from FIDF’s important well-being and educational programs.”
The evening will begin with dinner and cocktails at 6:30 p.m. The program and dessert follow at 7:45. All funds raised will go toward FIDF educational and well-being programs for IDF soldiers.
