Woodcliff Lake Mayor Carlos Rendo, left, joined the clergy of Temple Emanuel of the Pascack Valley, Cantor Allan Sokoloff and Rabbi Loren Monosov, lighting the Chanukah candles on the eighth night of Chanukah. An overflow crowd came to the shul to celebrate with singing, dreidel games, hot chocolate, snacks, and activities.
Rabbi Monosov said, “We filled the synagogue with the light of the candles. We filled the synagogue with the light of our presence, and as we filled Temple Emanuel with light, we stood together, reminding the world that we are stronger than the hate. This is what we have always done as a people, and this is what we will continue to do.”
