The Knitting Circle, an ongoing activity for the past few years, creates blankets to be donated to Project Linus. Among the participating organizations are Pascack Valley/Northern Valley Hadassah, Temple Emanuel of the Pascack Valley, Jewish Home Assisted Living, Jewish Community Center of NNJ, and Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey’s Women’s Philanthropy. The group meets at the Jewish Home Assisted Living in River Vale. People who can’t participate, can knit a square at home to be incorporated into a blanket.

Project Linus’s name comes from the character in “Peanuts” who always carries his security blanket. The organization aims to help children by giving them their own security blanket for warmth, security, and comfort as they experience a serious illness or trauma.
