Black—Jewish relations in Jersey City

Rabbi Bronwen Mullin of Congregation Bnai Jacob in Jersey City co-facilitates “We Are Greenville,” a community gathering and panel on coalition building between African Americans and Jews. Rashad Wright, Jersey City’s poet laureate, is organizing the program with Rabbi Mullin; it is set for Thursday, March 5, at 6:30 p.m., at the cultural center Mana Contemporary, at 888 Newark Ave. in Jersey City.

Other participants include Chris Gadsden, the former Jersey City councilman who now is the principal of Lincoln High School; Tiby Kantrowitz, lead organizer of the Jersey City Hurricane Sandy collective relief effort; Pamela Johnson, executive director of the Jersey City Anti-Violence Coalition Movement; and Stephanie Daniels, Jersey City Television’s creative director.
