An Ethiopian mezuzah for Emporio

Mayor Alon Davidi of Sderot, the Israeli town across the border from Gaza, was headed to Washington, D.C.

But first he visited Teaneck, where he stopped in Emporio for a new suit. On behalf of his city, he gave the store a mezuzah made in Sderot by Roknot Embroiderers, which hires Ethiopian women to make objects using their traditional needlework techniques, allowing the women to support themselves while keeping Ethiopian crafts alive.
