About Us

About Us

Each Friday since 1931, The Jewish Standard has been the Jewish voice of northern New Jersey. We are the oldest Jewish weekly in New Jersey.

Since 1984, The Jewish Community News has been the Jewish voice of Passaic County.

<!– We also publish the The Rockland Jewish Standard for the Jews of Rockland County.

–>

Since 2002, both parents and children have relied on About Our Children as a source for useful, accurate information for Jewish families.

At over 180 four-color pages, our annual Guide to Jewish Life has been “the resource guide” for families in northern New Jersey since 2000.

Our Mission: A Statement of Aims and Principles

TO PROVIDE the Jewish communities of Bergen, Hudson, Passaic, and Rockland counties with an indispensable newspaper that will present local, national, and world news of Jewish interest.

TO OFFER analysis, interpretation, and information about events of the day, to stimulate the concern and response vital to the fulfillment of our responsibilities as Americans and as Jews.

TO ENRICH the cultural life of individuals and the community through features, news articles, reviews, and other material of Jewish interest.

TO PROVIDE a forum for members of the community.

The Jewish Standard is not affiliated with any program, organization, movement, or point of view, but is dedicated to giving expression to all phases of Jewish life.

The Jewish Standard is independent; it is committed to Jewish continuity and to Israel and America’s well-being.
