A weekend of a capella
Pizmon — the coed Jewish a capella group of Columbia University, Barnard College, and the Jewish Theological Seminary of America — will be at Congregation Beth Sholom in Teaneck as musicians-in-residence February 7 and 8. The weekend coincides with Shabbat Shirah. On Friday, there will be musical services with no instruments at 5:15 p.m.; dinner at 6:30 will be followed by a music workshop for all ages. On Saturday at 10:15 a.m., there will be music workshops at children’s services, “Sermon and Singing” at the end of morning services, and zemirot after kiddush lunch. Shabbat will conclude with a concert at 7:15 p.m., with TAVIM, the shul’s adult a cappella choir accompanying.
