Aveva Dese lives in Upper Nazareth, but her family’s story is one of grandeur. Ethiopian Jews yearned to return to Zion and were finally brought home beginning in the 80s.

Listing her influences as Lauryn Hill, Fatoumata Diawara and Bob Marley – Dese performed at a festival in Tel Aviv for the unique Ethiopian-Jewish holiday of Sigd – which was observed in Ethiopia and is now celebrated in Israel – along with more of Israeli society each year.

The song is called, “Where are you love?” and is performed with her band, Akowendo Yves Elisee on drums, Omer Luzky on bass guitar, and Tamir Hilel on guitar.
