Just two comments on recent events: The Israeli/Palestinian peace talks have always been a one-upmanship challenge. Israel made the mistake of instituting a settlement freeze prior to the Palestinians’ sitting down. Cleverly, the Palestinians waited for one month before the freeze was to expire to agree to talks, knowing Israel was be in a less than desirable position in a few weeks. Perhaps the Israelis should make use of the Palestinians’ strategist.

As for the tumult cause by gay marriage, whatever happened to that old Jewish adage “Live and let live”?
