I take issue with your editorial “News from the front” (Nov. 25), in which you say, “As Jews we should be cheering on the OWS movement….” Is this enthusiasm warranted? As Jews, should we not be wary of a movement that harbors outspoken anti-Semites? Or those who would destroy Israel, like the Islamists who founded “Occupy” in Dade County, Fla.? Or those who trample the rights of others and invite violence and civil unrest? I think we disregard these warning signs at our peril. The problems our country faces today call for clear heads and constructive purpose. I think OWS as presently constituted can make things worse, but cannot make them better.
